- After installing this app, you can receive data on your iPhone or iPad from wireless nodes at the tourist sites you are visiting.
- Participating locations in Fukui Prefecture will allow you to receive commentary on nearby displays as well as floormaps and other useful information about the facilities. All information is displayed automatically in accordance with the language settings on your iPhone or iPad but is currently available only in English and Japanese.
- In this way, you can use this app as a virtual pamphlet to help you get the most out of your visit.

- As you walk around a tourist site with one page of the guide displayed it may automatically change to another page on approaching a new node. If you wish to read all of a page's contents at your own pace, please stay near the appropriate node until you have finished reading.
- In addition, please bear in mind that it may take a couple of minutes to switch a page after receiving the signal of next node.
- The archives page may be accessed by clicking an icon at the bottom of this page. From here, all archives can be viewed without receiving signals from nodes.

■ Echizen Washi no Sato
Echizen Washi no Sato is a place where you can walk along a 230m road observing the facilities and personnel involved in making Echizen Washi. Visitors may also choose to experience the paper-making process for themselves by partcipating in making washi from pulp. Gain a deeper understanshing of traditional Japanese paper while exploring a beautiful village environment surrounded by traditional buildings and nature. |
■ Takefu Knife Village
The Takefu Knife Village is a workshop dedicated to the study of the traditonal art of knife-making in association with the Echizen Blade Forging Research Group. Within the unqiuely-constructed workshop, you can observe expert craftsmen demonstrate traditional forging techniques. In addition, a wide assortment of fascinating knives, both traditional and novel, is displayed and some of them available for purchase. You can also experience aspects of the knife making process directly under the supervision of local artisans. |
